Welcome to my blog

Hello bloggers, this is my brand new blog about anti-whaling and the activists who support this movement. As you should know, the world's environment is changing and we must be informed about the events that are developing these changes.
Nowadays the environment is being affected by whaling, there are fewer whales in the sea and they may be endangered in matter of time; also the people who commit whaling are violating the animal rights. But what is whaling? Basically, whaling is the concept used for whale hunting and its meat processing. This is why activists from pro-animal and environmental foundations are taking control of this situation.
The reason why anti-whaling activists are causing a lot of controversy is because of the actions some of them take. The controversial battle between the whale meat processing ships and the activists have caught the attention of international organizations and there are countries were whaling is now forbidden or the laws got stricter. The famous group of activists Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, better known for the Animal Planet series Whale Wars, are possibly about to meet their goal: to stop whaling in Japan; but it’s been also criticized because of the activists’ methods. In the series, we can see the Sea Shepherds attack Japanese ships as seen in an ABC News article: “Harassment by Sea Shepherd has limited the whaling fleet's effectiveness, and last season it was forced to return to Japan after harpooning only a fifth of its total quota of whales” (Willacy, http://www.abc.net.au). The anti-whaling activists risk their own lives to stop whaling and some people have considered it extremist, some others think that it is the only way to get what they’re fighting for.

  1. Wow! I did even know about this whole wailing thing, but thank God there are people who try to stop it. The environmental changes all over the world are caused because of these kind people who just care about money. It is sad to think that this is not only about whales but also about every animal and every plant on the planet. I totally support anti-whaling activist, hopefully they will help to keep alive the more whales possible.

  2. Whats up??!

    Hello ther Susy.
I definetly support your cause (and whales! or any other animal). Undiscriminated hunting is forbidden in most countries, and if some whaling people don't want to follow the law then we should neither!! What if we shoot them a granade? they killed many whales!

Keep on it and we might help to spread common sense for animal rights!

  3. Hello Susy. I think that your blog is very interesting because it has a nice image of the sea and will contain information about things that should concern us, related to the anti-whaling activists. First of all, this picture and its colors are related to your topic so, I like it. Well, let’s begin and let me comment what I understood (and thought) about the anti-whaling activists.
First, I want you to know that you explained very well the topic. I did not know what an anti-whaling activist was, but you stated it as a person who is against whale hunting and can take many risks in order to save these beautiful animals.
Moreover, I think that the anti-whaling activists should involve more people, by different ways, in order to cause more impact on the society. They may use campaigns, advertisements, alliances with other eco-friendly organizations, etc. In that way, they may save whales from extinction and the ecosystems will not be affected at all. I said that the ecosystems will be affected because these animals should have very important functions in the ocean and if they extinct, the damages are imminent.
Finally, I disapprove the attack that the activists did to the Japanese ships because we, as humans, should solve this type of issues with dialogue. I think that, in this case, the anti-whaling activists acted a little bit extremist. They may find another way to persuade the whale hunters to not kill these animals for just their meat. And well, this is just my opinion about this problem that we are facing. I hope that you liked it.
Nice blog with an important topic for our world. I will continue reading it.
